BLOG #1: LIMITING A LIMITLESS GOD

Do you know that we as humans are limited? There is however one being who has no limits. Meet the limitless God who created this world in His greatness that spans the Heavens and the earth. This limitless God who also created us for greatness. For we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14 (NIV) states, I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made: your works are wonderful. I know that full well.

We are limited to life, perfection, material things or accomplishment in life and our thinking or thoughts are limited. We are also limited to our joys/happiness, our sorrows/sadness. Today, I’m urging you to look at yourself the way our limitless God looks at you. Let us learn to let go of self that is so limited and cling to God who is limitless. Why limit God when He is the one who made us, created us, and intend for us to live abundant lives? Why limit God when He is above all and is in control?

We limit God by:

- Sinning

- Living by feelings

- Not trusting God

- Not having high expectations

- By our ingratitude

- By our worldliness- The Lord has called us and forbidden us to love worldly things John 2:15-17

- By our disobedience

- By our insecurity – we must be sincere and consistence in serving God.

- These things limit God’s blessings in and through us

1. When we sin, God forgives and forget.

2. We live by our feelings in that when we are happy and everything is going our way, we are happy with God but when we are sad and depressed, failures hit us hard, we think that God has forgotten us, God seems so far from us, we start asking questions, where is God? Why is this happening? Is God listening to me? Is God near to me? We cannot put God in a box and treat him as a jumping jack. God is a God of unlimited love, A God who cares about us and wants to work in our lows. We are so limited that when we are weak the limitless God strengthens us.

3. How many of us dare die for another? God is limitless in love and power in that he sent his only son to die for you and me. John 3:16 For God so love the world that he gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. In power Jesus rose triumphantly.

4. We obtain eternal life something that we are limited to, through the limitless God who is eternal.

Take the limits off God and live the limitless and abundant life He has for you, first by changing our thinking, think on the things that are pure, of good report, and think about the greatness of God and through him, we too can be great in the power of God.

We do that by viewing God as a God of infinite love, infinite mercy, infinite grace and in all an infinite and limitless God. Then, good things will happen when we take the limit off God as Jeremiah 29:11 said For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. I hope your hearts are blessed and that you will now see God as He is and live an abundant Christian life.

Numbers 6:24-26 KJV:

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
